Today I begin my blogging anew.

Today is the beginning of my blogging. I have struggled with this as I have not had quite the time, patience or persistence, but I’m ok with that.

I have trouble with direction, reminding myself of what I’m doing is a challenge. So – stay tuned friends, as I brainstorm and let this journey unfold.

I have tried this in the past and boy, it’s a challenge. I feel like beginning this journey with our homeschool process, and supplementing it with crafts, patterns, and cooking.

What do you like to read? What do you like to see? I want to hear from the people who are out here looking. Everyone can be a blogger, only few actually do so successfully. I find myself looking for a creative outlet and wishing for this to be it.

Sugar Cookies:
This recipe is from my mom, I believe it is from the Betty Crocker cookbook. I by no means am claiming ownership of it in part or all of its entirety. I hope you can enjoy it like I have since I was a child.

1 1/2 cups powder sugar
1 cup butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Mix powder sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract, and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.

Heat oven to 375. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface and cut out cookies. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake until edges are light brown about 7 to 8 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.

Vanilla Frosting:

3 cups powder sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
about 2 tablespoons milk

Mix powder sugar and butter. Stir in vanilla and milk. beat until smooth and of spreadable consistency.

PS when putting in the milk start with 1 tablespoon then add more if needed.

Let me know how they come out. Enjoy

Love Mom

I did copy this verbatim from her email. I feel a lot like the “Love mom” adds some special powers to. The cookies that get made from this will be energetically filled with love… Or something like that.
